Grays Harbour Dec 25th-27th. You name it we had it. 6 to 11 deg.

We hope you all had a great Christmas, we did. The weather was wild, windy and rain. We tried to go for a walk on the beach but the wind made the rain drops feel like ice pellets. We made it for about 100 meters then turned back. There will be other days. Besides, there was a run off creek that we did not want to cross with only our shoes on. Too wide, too deep.  Back to the rig and soon it was time to put on the turkey. We had found a five pound breast at Haggens and we brought stuffing from home. It was all very good, although as usual, way too much. I did go back and take some pictures of the drowned campsites and road. Unfortunately, the cell service here at Ft. Stevens today (Dec 18) is so low I can't load any pictures. I am having a hard time with just the text. I will update photos when I get good cell service. Thursday, we drove down to Tokeland, It is about seven miles south of Grayland. Drove around town, checked out the sights and headed home. Left over turkey, 😕 ...

Grayland Beach St. Pk. Dec 23th-24th Sunny and warm both days 8-11deg, lots of rain at night.

It's a five hour drive from Bay View St Pk. to Grayland Beach St. Pk., long for us these days. The traffic was good for the most part; it did slow down in a couple of places but not too bad. It is always nice to get off I-5 and head for the coast. The weather being good did make the drive a lot nicer. Once we got to our campsite and set up, it was time to trim the tree. Pat quilted this two years ago and I made the ornaments and hung the lights. We are now all set for the fat man. It poured rain last night but was very warm, I don't think it went below 9deg. Sunny all day today with highs of 11 or so, very nice. The forecast is for lots of rain, the same at home I think. We took a drive into Westport this afternoon and stopped at the beach. Here comes the storm. Our campsite is not under water yet but we will see what happens. Some of the sites closer to the beach are lakes, I will try to get some photos of them tomorrow. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas. Hartley and Pat

Bay View St Pk. Dec. 19th - 22nd 5 to 11 deg. rain off and on, windy.

We left the house at 9:00 and headed for the 10:50 ferry, it was 20 min. late. The traffic wasn't too bad and we got to Fort Langley 1:20. Got set up, hung around a bit, then went for an early supper at the Fort pub.  On the 20th. we went to Abbotsford Costco for propane and coffee. Then out to Chilliwack RV parts places to look for a slam latch for the trailer, ours is misbehaving, still works but you have to watch that it closes tight. Of coarse, no one had one, good thing it still sort of works. Now we have something to shop for along the trail. Met up with Ryan, Lam and Quinn for supper at Brodeurs Bistro, nice place, good food and a great visit with the kids. When we left the restaurant Lam led us down some streets with great Christmas lights. We thought we had seen them all and ended up in the wrong lane at a stop light but she said she was just getting to the good stuff! We couldn't get over so that was it but sure enjoyed what we saw. Next, on to Bay View St. Park. Dec...

Secret Cove Dec. 18th 10:30 6 deg. sunny.

Just packing up the final few things, we will be on the boat tomorrow. We will go to Fort Langley RV Park for two nights before we head over the boarder. That way we can see Ryan and family and have dinner with them. As you can see from above, I plan to include a weather report every day. We are after all, looking for some warmer weather.  As always, feel free to share this blog with anyone you think would be interested. I will post when I have cell service and or, have something to say.
